Exploring the coral reef with hidden ocean creatures is an exciting Sensory learning experience where kids can explore numbers and engage the sense of touch as they discover the wonderful texture of sand. By working to spot the number of different sea critters on the life-sized book, kids are also exploring the skill of Visual Processing.
Sensory-rich activities provide our brain with a variety of inputs to create meaningful experiences that help to embed learning. Whether it's writing your name in sand or a science experiment in a lab, sensory activities provide enrichment for growing brains. Visual Processing is the skill that our brain uses to make sense of what we see in the world around us. This includes things like pattern recognition, spotting the difference and recalling sequences which are crucial in helping us with literacy and numeracy skills.
This activity is recommended for kids aged 3+ years.
